Welcome to a brand new year. Grade One is such an exciting year... one where you will see enormous growth with your children. I feel so fortunate to be a part of your child's life and to be able to share in this amazing journey with you.
I am starting my 22nd year of teaching and have been lucky enough to enjoy most of those years in a grade 1 classroom. I have taught grade 2 a few times and have always missed the grade 1 students. Teaching is such a huge part of who I am. It is my heart, and I promise you, that I will put everything I can into making sure this is a successful year for your child. I believe strongly in the home/school connection and hope that if you ever have any questions or concerns that you don't hesitate to ask or come talk to me. Besides teaching, you will quickly notice, when you come into the classroom, that I love animals. I always say that if I won the lottery, I'd buy a farm in a heartbeat. Photography is another thing that I love to do and throughout the year, I will take many pictures of the kids to share with you. Probably, my next favourite thing is traveling. I have been fortunate in my life, so far, to travel to so many amazing countries. Paris and Rome were some of my favourites, although going to Russia and Egypt were surreal. I also traveled to Flanders and Dieppe, which were perhaps the most emotional of all the places I've been to. And this past summer, my dream came true and I traveled to Iceland... it is my history and I was able to stand on the land where my great grandparents lived. Below are a few pictures of my favourite things. It's always nice to know a little bit about the teacher that will be spending so much time with your child! |
